Death to boring content
In this email: Supercharge your captions with this simple shift The Story Spinner Challenge Don't forget your "flu shits" Humans are wired for stories. We evolved as storytellers because we needed cooperation to survive. And while your business isn’t fighting off wild animals, a great story will help you connect, convert, and sell more. Here’s the key: People don’t buy products; they buy feelings. It’s easy to fall into the trap of only posting sales, offers, and business updates. But the truth is, no one cares until you give them a reason to. Here’s how: Flip the perspective from “what” is happening to “why, when, who, where, or how.” That small shift supercharges your content AND increases sales. The easiest way to think about it is the 80/20 rule: Because the first five make people care about the last one. Story SpinnerUsing the Story Spinner, I transform “meh” posts into killer posts that stop the scroll. Boring post: Let’s Spin It: Killer post: "I thought I was creating a yoga mat, but I was really creating a way back to myself. After becoming a mom, every part of my day belonged to someone else, and I ignored how much I needed my own space. It wasn’t the movement that changed me. It was the decision to take that space back. If you’ve been putting yourself last, maybe this mat can be your reminder that you matter, too. Made with high-quality materials and available in three colors as gorgeous as you are. 💛 Comment “Me time” for a special gift with your mat!" Tools & ResourcesMy favorite tool for creating content is Grammarly. (This is not a sponsored post; I just love it!) Video and photos are great for catching people's attention, but your captions are where you get them closer to buying your product or services. If you don't feel confident with words, Grammarly will turn you into a master writer. Use the spellcheck, and never send another email saying you work in "pubic relations" or that you got your "flu shits." Use the synonym tool, and you won't have to worry about writing a post that you check later and realize reads, "I'm so excited about this exciting news! If you're excited too, let me know!" It also has suggestions for readability and clarity. Highly recommend! Which of these suggestions sounds helpful? If you know someone whose content is super boring, maybe forward this to them... I won't tell them what you said ;) |
